Twelve years after my last steps in Brussels‑West, I returned to document the hidden world of the Specialized Support Units—masked operators waging nocturnal, high‑risk operations against evolving crime. Trained for urban warfare and precision under extreme pressure, they move silently with drones, shields, and heavy gear through “quiet” neighborhoods masking international trafficking. Over two relentless weeks, I witnessed raids, terror‑attack simulations, cache discoveries, and a fragile balance: tactical excellence facing chronically underfunded institutions and ever‑faster criminal networks
